Anne Pitt - 1790
oil on canvas, 140 x 99.5 cm.
Painted in Rome. Anne Pitt lived 1772-1864. She was the daughter of Thomas Pitt, Lord Camelford (1737-93), a politician and art connoisseur. In 1792, she married Baron William Wyndham Grenville (1759-1834). This painting, from the Hermitage, seems to be a replica, as the signed portrait is believed to still be in England, perhaps still in the sitter's family. The copy was received in 1920 through the State Museum reserve from the Vorontsov-Dashkov collection in Petrograd.

Portrait of a Woman - 1777
