Painted by Vigée Le Brun while living outside of Vienna, Austria in the town
of Huitzing. Romuald Joachim Bystry (1756-1824). He claimed to be a Count. Vigée Le Brun called his wife a Countess.
Both portraits of Count Siemontkowsky Bystry and his wife (below) were sold at Christie's, New York on 13 April 2016 for $260,000 (lot 18). Previously the pair were sold on 4 July 2013 at Sotheby's, London for $141,200.
