Princess Frederika Louisa Dorothea Philippine von Hohenzollern, Princess Radziwill.(1770-1836), wife of Prince Anton Heinrich Radziwill (1775-1833). A Prussian Princess, she was the niece of Frederick the Great (Frederick II, lived 1712-86, reigned 1740-86), and cousin of Frederick William II (lived 1744-97, reigned 1786-97) and his son Frederick William III (lived 1770-1840, reigned 1797-1840). She was married at a young age to Prince Radziwill. Vigée Le Brun completed a pastel study prior for this oil version in Berlin in 1801. The pastel is featured in Neil Jeffares' Dictionary of Pastellists before 1800.This portrait was sold by Christies in 1978 for 8,000 pounds. The painting came from the Radziwill family.

The portrait was sold by Christie's in 1992 The pastel is featured in Neil Jeffares' Dictionary of Pastellists before 1800.

Elisabeth Isabelle Mniszech -1797

Elisabeth (alias Izabella) Maria Filipina Mniszech. She was born in 1792 (1790 according to some sources) and died 1852. She was the daughter of one of the nieces of the Polish king Stanislaus I August Poniatowsk. the portrait was painted while Vigée Le Brun was in St. Petersburg. Elisabeth is also mentioned in her Memoirs. Vigee Lebrun enjoyed the esteem of King Stanislaus I August, his sister the Countess Louise Zamojska and her daughter, the Countess Urzula Mniszech. Elisabeth married Prince Dominik Radziwill in 1807 (divorced 1809) and then married Auguste de Canon, marquis de Ville-sur-Illon, baron de Canon in 1814. Auguste received the Polish name and title of count Demblinski in 1816 from Emperor Alexander I of Russia as king of Poland. The painting is signed and dated at the bottom left-Petersbourg / Vigede / Le Brun / 1797
